Handling of conflicts
 

   

 

 

Conflicts can arise at all workplaces and it is the manager’s job to register them and deal with them. Conflicts open up for development. It is the way in which they are solved which determines whether they lead to growth and development or stagnation and collapse. To be able to deal with conflicts in an investigative and constructive way is therefore a key competence in modern management.

Target group
Managers, HR consultants and work and organisational psychologists.

Objective
The overall objective is to strengthen the participants’ ability to analyse, understand and handle staff conflicts and in that way extend their professional options.

Outcome
Theory: That the participants get knowledge of conflict theory, different levels and types of conflict and theoretical insight in mediation of conflicts.
Consciousness:

That each participant becomes aware of actual conflict level and the type of intervention which would be appropriate.

Skills: That the participants become better at intervening constructively and quickly when conflicts occur.
Method: That the participants get a number of concrete tools to bring home with them for prevention and handling of staff conflicts.
